Philanthropic Giving Programs

The Wealth Coaches have pioneered an innovative charitable gift-giving program where philanthropists can Donate an Investment Asset in trust to a charity of choice, or to a new or established charitable foundation trust, with the goal of leaving a legacy for the charity. The giver purchases an investment, such as a Natural Fancy Colored Diamond, and we arrange for the investment to be held In Trust with a reputable law firm, and deposited in a safety deposit box or other secure storage facility, to allow for long-term capital appreciation.

In the case of Natural Fancy Colored Diamonds, a hold period of 5 years is recommended, subject to economic conditions. At some point in the future, we will recommend liquidation of the investment, at which point the proceeds can be reinvested into other opportunities within the trust or donated directly to the intended charity. The philanthropist receives the tax receipt at the time of donation and the charity receives the benefit of the capital gains growth. Alternatively, the capital gains can be earned over time and be payable by the giver at the time of liquidation, at which time a much larger taxable receipt can be earned to offset the capital gains tax. Either way, the charity gets the entire cash amount in the future. By way of example, if 25 years ago, a giver donated a 1 Carat Natural Fancy Colored Diamond purchased at $10,000, that same asset could now be sold for over $1 Million! The charitable foundation would now have 100 times the original amount of the donation to fund its activities. This strategy helps mitigate one of the common problems faced each year by charities, that being ongoing fundraising.

We suggest donating a goose that lays golden eggs!

This program can apply to other tangible assets such as Gold, Silver, and Income-producing Real Estate, that generate future gains, hedge against inflation, or produce monthly cash flow on a tax free basis to the charity. Contact us for more information and to make a donation in kind.
